Someone very close to me has a relative who was recently diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease (which is what the main character in this book suffers from...it's the human variant of Mad Cow Disease.) Have any of you read this one? I'm curious to see if it treats the disease with sensitivity because frankly, this video has me a little worried. Creutzfeldt-Jacob is a HORRIBLE disease...sigh...a 16 year old friend of the family is currently watching his father die from this. I'm hoping this book will be something I can pass on to him. That maybe he can find something to relate to in it, you know what I mean? Anyway, this one is next on the reading list but if you any of you have any input on it, please, please leave me a comment.

I've never heard of Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease, but it sounds horrible! I love Libba Bray, so I might give this one a shot.

I had never heard of it either. I googled and read that there are only some 250 new cases diagnosed in the States a year...incredibly rare.
I've never read any Libba Bray but overall I've been hearing this book is good so I'm definitely going to give it a chance =)

Hello - am new here, and glad I found you and that you review vampire books as I have a friend who is totally into them, and I want to buy her some she may not have heard of already, so your blog seems perfect. And I love your blog name. :)

So sorry to hear someone close to you has a relative with that disease, though. It sounds awful. I hope that book does have something he can relate to in it.

Hi Jayne and welcome!! Check and see if she has read Insatiable by Meg Cabot or Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler, both books feature vampires along with a wicked sense of humor!

And thank you for your kind words, the poor kid has been through a lot. So far the book is pretty amazing so I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up a copy for him.

Hello - thank you for popping over to my blog with your recs - just had to scurry back over to say thank you here as well! They both definitely sound like her sort of thing - as long as the vampire is hot (in a cold-blooded sort of way!)
